BA. LL.B (Hons.) 5 Years

The B.A.LL. B (Hons.) 5 Year Course includes political science, economics, sociology, and English as secondary areas of study to complement a wide range of law subjects that graduates are required to study. There are six subjects in each semester except the nine and ten classes, which contain only five articles per semester. In this B.A.LL. B (Hons.) 5 Year Program, the student gets two degrees one for BA and another for LLB. As far as the syllabus is concerned B.A.LL. B (Hons.) 5 Years is an integrated course where the students study law subjects right from the first semester onward like Law of Torts, Consumer Protection Laws, Law of contract, etc. These law-related papers and English is compulsory but the students can choose papers from Political Science, Sociology, History, Economics, etc.

B.Com. LL.B (Hons.) 5 Years

The 5-year B.Com LLB integrated program is organized extensively with subjects of B.Com and also LLB. B.Com LLB Integrated is the most suitable degree programs for the understudies who seek to wind up prosecute legal counselor, judge, lawful supervisors, lawful expert, or lawful guides PO chief in their vocation.
In the first three years, B.com subjects are pre-dominant with relatively fewer LLB subjects and the next 2 years are dedicated to the practice of legal education.

LL.B 3 Years

The 3 Year LL.B Course is the largest in the college. It is the traditional LL.B course which encompasses the foundations of legal knowledge. These are the basic ingredients that meet the professional requirements of the Bar Association and the Law Society. In the first year, you will take all the basic units, while the second and third years offer a wide range of electives to allow you to expand your interests. We share with visiting lecturers who are at the forefront of legal practice in the city, as well as academics who lead researchers in this sector.

  • Court Visits: Our students visit different courts e.g. High Court,Distict Courts , National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, State Consumer Disputes Redresseal Commission, District Consumer Disputes Redressal. Forums, State Human Rights Commissions and other organization like ONGC etc. for internship in the months of June-July and December-January.

 

  • Legal Awareness Camp CHETNA: To create Legal Awareness in the society students of our College organised Legal Awareness Camp “CHETNA” in association with Punjab State Legal Services Authorities and District Legal Services Authority S.B.S. Nagar on 26-02-2018. Honb’le Mr. Justice T.P.S. Mann, Punjab and Haryana High Court cum Executive Chairman, Punjab State Legal Services Authority and Honb’le Mr. Justice Raj Shekhar Atri, Punjab and Haryana High Court had inaugurated the session. Different Services like, child welfare, old age pension, agriculture, employment and skill development, education, food and civil supply, medical check-up, labour, horticulture, and land disputes etc. were provided at the spot by different 42 stalls.

  • Adieu- 2018: Students of Our College, bid farewell to their seniors.  Farewell party ‘Adieu- 2018’ was organized on 23rd April, 2018 for final year students. The function started with the floral welcome of the Chief Guest Dr. Suresh Seth, Campus Director of Rayat and Bahra Group- Ropar Campus, followed by lighting of lamp ceremony and address to student by the respected campus director. Dr. Seth shared many success mantras with the students, encouraged them to think differently in order to create niche for themselves and gave them best wishes. Manpreet Kaur and Gurfateh Singh were crowned as ‘Miss RCL’ and ‘Mr. RCL’.

  • Educational Trip: An educational trip to Punjab and Haryana High Court was organized for the students of our College on 27-02-2018. Student interacted with the senior advocates and learnt court manners and other advocacy skills from them.
  • Historical Tour to Rajasthan: An historical tour has been organized for the students of our college to Jaipur, Ajmer, Pushkar, Udaipur, Mount Abu and Chittor Garh from 19-03-2018 to 26-03-2018.

  • Historical Trip to Indus Valley Civilization Ropar: Around 60 students visited the most ancient Indus Valley Civilization Ropar on 07-02-2018 along with the Principal Dr. Monika Sharma and Dr. Mahender Singh, Assistant Professor in History. Firstly the students visited Museum in which the students saw the ancient things which were excavated from this site like bangles, ear rings, armlets, nose rings and chain made by beads and metals. Gold, Silver and Copper coins were also found there, then the students visited the actual site at Ropar, where the big house was found in which a well was also constructed which was made of small bricks and well planned.

Law Fest 2018

  • In a Law College law related activities are an important part for the holistic development and overall appraisal of law students. Our College organized Law Fest from 22nd October to 23rd October, 2018. The law fest held by the college was one of its kind. It has various events like Moot Court Competition, Seminar and Mock Parliament. To begin with Moot Court, which is one of the major co-curricular activity in any law school was held in a major way for practical study of criminal laws and other related laws. B.A./B.Com LL.B. 5th semester students namely Vaibhav Saini, Ahbishai Gorge and Parkash Chander were declared winners of Moot Court competition. The next event was Client Counselling in which total 20 teams took part. The team from 9th semester declared winner in client counselling. The Next Day was proceeded by Mock Parliament. The Mock Parliament soulfully depicted the issue of The Regulation of Surrogacy Act 2018. The students of 2nd year and 3rd year did a great job in presenting the same.
  • International Conference on Governance, Democracy and Change: Our College, organized International Conference on 18th March, 2018 on the theme “Governance, Democracy and Change” which was a part of three days ICAST-2018. With the objective to disperse information, share ideas, insights and bring to the table the impact of democracy and governance in the society and the State. More than 25 delegates including academicians, research scholars, practitioners and students from different parts of country presented their research work on various issues related to the theme. The Chief Guest, Dr. Anil Kumar Thakur, Asst. Professor in Department of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh graced the session.
  • Inter-College Quiz Competition: An Inter-College Quiz Competition was organised at our College on 21-02-2018 in which Five teams from different colleges participated. The team from Rayat Education College, Ropar Campus bagged the first prize.
  • Workshop on Stress Management: A Workshop on Stress Management was organised in our College  on 12-02-2018 in which the resource person for the day Dr. Neha Sharma from Government Home Science, Sector 10, Chandigarh, emphasised upon positive thinking and advised the students to strictly follow certain mode of conduct / behaviour in life to achieve their aim in life.
  • Special Lecture on Alternate Dispute Resolution A Special Lecture on Alternate Dispute Resolution was organised in our College on 09-10-2018. The object of this lecture was to make aware students regarding techniques of mediation and conciliation under Legal Services Authority Act.. The Resource person for the day was Mr. Parinder Singh, CJM Cum Secretary District Legal Services Authority S.B.S. Nagar. Lecture was attended by 50 students of the college. Resource Person while addressing students emphasised upon the requirement of awareness regarding the law on Legal Aid. He also discussed with the students his personal experience while dealing with the case of mediation and appraises them with advantages of mediation and conciliation. He also interacts with the students and answers all their questions in detail. Overall his lecture was very informative and interesting for the students as well as for the faculty members.
  • Special Lecture on Domestic Violence: A Special Lecture on Domestic Violence was organised in our  College on 05-09-2018. The object of this lecture was to make aware students regarding law on Domestic violence and sensitise them regarding the protection of women from domestic violence. The Resource person for the day was Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Arora from Department of Laws Panjab University Chandigarh. Lecture was attended by 50 students of the college. Resource Person while addressing students emphasised upon the requirement of awareness regarding the law on domestic violence. She also interpreted various provisions of Protection of Women Act from Domestic Violence and other acts such as IPC and Dowry prohibition Act. Overall her lecture was very fruitful for the students as well as for the faculty members.
  • Special Lecture on Financial Literacy: The College has organised the guest lecture on financial literacy on 16-10-2018. The resource person for the day was Mr. Vishal from National Stock Exchange. It was a very interactive and good session. He provided practical knowledge about financial planning and investment. Students came to know about mode of various investments in different securities and portfolio management. He also took up the various current topics like mutual funds. Resource person explained the different channels of saving and investment. Overall interaction was provided good insight to the students and valuable learning for the future.
  • Special Lecture: on ‘Law Practice- Greener Pasture, Respectable Profession’ was organised in our College on 13-09-2018. The object of this lecture was to make aware students regarding Practical aspects of law profession and the importance of ethics in private practice. The Resource person for the day was Mr. Harsimar Singh Sitta an alumni of our College who is presently working as Assistant Advocate General in Panjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh. Lecture was attended by 50 students of the College. Resource Person while addressing students emphasised upon the requirement of awareness regarding society and the importance of reading newspaper daily. He also made aware the students about the difficulties faced by buddy advocates in the courts and gave some tips to be successful in their endeavours. Overall his lecture was very fruitful for the students.

Sports Fest held successfully at Central University Rajiv Gandhi National Law University, Patiala in which 15 National Law University, along with our Law College only, participated. Around 80 students participated from our College side in different events, in which they performed very well and

During this COVID – 19 pandemic crisis mostly everyone in our society is doing a bit to bring positivity in these trying times and spreading awareness about how to overcome from this situation.

Annual intra-college Client Counselling Competition on 18th,19th June 2021

SaginaWaliat Special lecture on women empowerment

Ms.SaginaWaliat is a renowned Advocate at High Court of Punjab and Haryana and also a social activist. The department has organised the special guest lecture of her on Women Empowerment. In his enlightened lecture she had point out various points on Women Empowerment and motivate students to carve out the possible solution on it. Students participated enthusiastically in the lecture and ask their queries from her.

Sports Felicitation Ceremony

A sports facilitation programme was conducted in Our College for the students who bagged First, Second and Third Positions at Rajiv Gandhi University of Law, Patiala, University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University Chandigarh, and Intra College tournament at Ropar Campus in different Sports event. The Badminton team of Women won the Gold Medal in Panjab University Inter College Tournament, where as the Chess team managed to have the 7th position in this tournament among 190 Colleges for the session 2018-19. An Intra-College Cricket tournament was organised in our College from 13-03-2018 to 14-03-2018 in which five teams from each year had participated. Team from 3rd year won the tournament.

8th RCL National Moot Court Competition

Hon’ble Justice Sh. Avneesh Jhingan, sitting judge of The Punjab and Haryana High Court inaugurated the 8th RCL National Moot Court Competition at Our College on 30th March, 2017. It was two day competition where 32 teams including National law schools across the nation competed against each other. Army Institute of Law, Mohali was declared winner of the competition.

9th RCL Moot Court and Client Counseling Competition

Honorable Justice Mr.Arun Kumar Tyagi judge of The Punjab and Haryana High Court inaugurated the 9th  RCL National Moot Court  and client counselling Competition at Our College on 30th– 31st March, 2019. It was two day competition where total 39 teams including National law schools across the nation competed against each other. Delhi University was declared winner of the Moot court competition and in Client counselling UPES Dehradun was declared winner.
